Supported by servus.at, Theater Phönix is currently undergoing a digitization process in which database-supported, automated, and algorithmic processes in theater operations are being explored. The project attempts to combine a critical examination of AI systems with their actual application in daily workflows. This is done in sessions with the Phönix team, with the help of a survey of the theater alliance, and with practical hands-on workshops led by experts.

In addition, actors from the extended Linz art and culture scene are invited to be part of an “AI Café” – a public event series in which different experiences and approaches to AI in cultural production are collected. Workshops and events are curated by servus.at.
Moreover, together with its team, servus.at researches digital tools to protect the work of artists and cultural creators from AI scraping.
