Hidden Sounds by Boris Shershenkov

Sa 15.02.25 14-18 h
STWST/servus.at Clubraum

The Field Processing Unit is a modular, advanced listening system for exploring hidden sounds. During the workshop we will build a headphone amplifier and three sets of active microphones that will allow us to listen to the vibrations in different materials, electromagnetic waves and visible light modulations:

1. contact microphone
2. electromagnetic transducer
3. phonoptic transducer

The sounds captured by the unit can be used as control signals for analog and digital systems or recorded with a smartphone or audio recorder to create musical compositions, performances and sound installations.

>No previous knowledge of soldering is required.
>Material fee: 30 EUR.
>Please register at: noiselab.linz@gmail.com

*** If participants are interested, we can offer a subsequent sound walk where you can test your devices and put them into action.

A cooperation of Noise Meetup, servus.at & STWST.
